Excerpt from the diary of Devonny Winden,
Such a quiet neighboorhood. I am not used to such… peacefullness.

I could just die of boredom here. There are no tall skyscrapers, no towering office buildings, and not even a single old quaint coffeeshop across the street. Why am I here? At the request of my husband Lex Winden.

I’ve wanted to start a family for quite a while now, but due to my fragile body, we haven’t brought up the possibility of having a child. We moved to Littlebrook in hopes that the suburban neighboorhood would ease our fears of a tragic pregnacy and allow us to have a child.
Our hopes were realized the same night we moved into Littlebrook. Did I mention that Lex himself designed this house? He hopes to become an author, but since it isn’t a job with a steady paycheck, he’s working as an aspiring athelete in Littlebrook.

The night had started off normally. I was cooking spaghetti for dinner as Lex was setting up the bed upstairs. I could tell he was having trouble as there were random swear words floating downstairs from our bedroom…
“Lex dinner!” Devonny called.
“Eat without me! The bloody bed isn’t working!”
Devonny frowned slightly at the thought. She hated eating alone, but it couldn’t be helped. It would be best if they had a bed to sleep on tonight. Devonny ate her spaghetti, washed the dishes, and sat down on the couch. There was no TV or lights for the matter. Lex hadn’t installed the lighting or wired the TV yet so Devonny found herself utterly bored. It was dark out and before she knew it, she had dozed off.

“Honey I’m do-” Lex called down the stairs when he saw her sleeping on the couch. He slipped silently into the kitchen and helped himself to a plate of spaghetti, washed the dishes and visited the bathroom before going to wake Devonny up.

Devonny at this point had completly fallen asleep and was oblvious to her husband’s footsteps, until he crashed into the bookshelf.

Devonny awoke with a start.
“Sorry did I wake you?” Lex asked as he replaced the book and walked over.
“No, no, I just dozed off. Did you have dinner? There’s spaghetti in the kitch-”
“Yes dear, I’ve already had some and washed the dishes. Why don’t you go up to the bedroom and sleep? I got the bed up and ready.”
Devonny nodded and got up.

“Steady now, up you get.” he said as he helped to lift his sleepy wife out of the comfy couch.
“Thanks Lex,” Devonny murmured and turned and gave him a quick peck.

Devonny wandered up the stairs and landed on the bed with a thud. Such a nice comfy bed, how could it ever give Lex so much trouble?

She changed into her pjs and looked out the window. Maybe it was time to take some risks, it was why they had moved here right?

As she got into bed, Lex changed into his pjs and got into bed too. Before they fell asleep, Devonny summoned her all her courage and prepared for what will come. She turned towards him and hugged him from behind.
“Lex you still awake?”
“Mmhm… what is it?” Lex murmured sleepily, eyes still closed.
“Lex… let’s have a baby.” Devonny whispered as she drifted off into dreamland.

Lex’s eyes shot wide open, and he knew with a certainty, that he wouldn’t be sleeping tonight.
Oh my God.
