We stared at each other for a good five minutes in shock and confusion at this sudden intrusion- her, being walked in on and me for walking in.

“Who the hell are you?”
“Huh?” I responded bewilderedly.
“I said, who the hell are you?” she repeated glaring at me.

“I’m…” I responded trying to get his thoughts straightened out, “I’m Alec, I’m moving into this house.”
“Uh, no you’re not. Bret never told me anything about someone moving in.” she retorted, glancing at me suspiciously now.
“I’m Bret’s friend, I’m staying here for work purposes, he said I could…”

“And I was born yesterday. You didn’t even mention Bret before I told you.”
“No! I swear! Call him! He’ll tell you I was supposed to live here temporarily!”

She backed away and raised a hand almost as if to ward me off.
“I think you should leave now before I call the cops.”
“What?! You won’t even hear me out?!” I yelped out in indignition.

“Get out. Now.” she said. “I don’t want things to get messy.”
“Now listen here,” I said angrily, the girl had no right to tell me to get out! As far as I know she could be someone freeloading in Bret’s house!

“How do I know you’re supposed to be in the house?” I challenged. “Bret never told me anyone would be living in his house so for all I know you could be the one who is not supposed to be here!”
“I’ve been living here for over a year now! Of course I’m supposed to be here!” she said angrily brushing the idea away with her hand.
“Then exactly why did Bret not tell me that you’d be here?” I said crossing his arms over his chest.

“Fine, I’ll call him. Wait here. If you move I’ll call the police no question asked.” she said as she walked by me to call Bret. I kept my arms crossed and waited in the hallway. As far as I was concerned, she had nothing on me.

“But I guess it is a logical reaction,” I thought. “I mean a woman alone in the house confronted by an unknown man… I would be scared too.”
Hi,
I just stumbled onto your blog. The argument scene was great, very realistic. Nice way for Alec to turn it around on her! lol
This story could go in a bunch of directions and I’m dying to find out what you do with it.
Nice work!
Ann
Mohohon: Haha, thanks =) I’m kind of new to this whole thing so it took me a while to get back to your comment and where it’s headed? Not even I know! (I’m pretty sure inspiration will hit sometime to where it will head!)
I forgot, I’m adding the Cottage to my blogroll so I remember to check for updates, I’m looking forward to them
